Online Workshop: Floor Flow

Service Description

This will be a 75-minute floorwork workshop with skill options for all levels. The first half of the workshop will cover fundamental floorwork skills, with a focus on connecting tricks and seamless transitions. The second half of the workshop will put these transitions into context with a short sequence. Kelsey is a lifelong dancer and longtime performer with a passion for teaching, exploring creative movement, and telling stories through dance. She began taking dance and gymnastics classes as a child in her hometown of Ottawa and continued to study dance in Toronto at York University in 2010. In 2013 she began coaching gymnastics and dance full time and has continued to learn and teach over the past 12 years, adding pole and aerial hoop to her repertoire of skills. She strongly believes that dance is for everyone and loves helping students find their own pathways and movement styles. If you've ever taken her classes before then you know she will always encourage you to make sequences your own and "make it weird"! Can't wait to dance with you all! Recommended attire is comfy clothes, with lots of room for movement. Recordings will be sent out after the workshop. This workshop aims to fundraise for mental health, wellbeing, and family supports. There are two ways to sign up: OPTION 1) Register with a class pass via this site, and we will donate the equivalent amount on your behalf. These funds will specifically be going to Family Services Ottawa to support Kelsey's fundraising goals. OPTION 2) Donate on your own behalf (and get a donation receipt) to a related mental health community wellbeing organization. Some suggestions are: Family Services Ottawa/Canada/your location or the SickKids Foundation - any other relevant charity of your choice is also acceptable!
